Cost of treating severe malaria in children in Africa: a systematic literature review

Malaria is a major cause of ill health and death in children in Africa. The disease also imposes a severe social and economic burden on households and health systems and is strongly associated with poverty. This study summarizes the most up-to-date cost of treating severe malaria in children in Africa.

Safety and pharmacokinetic properties of a new formulation of parenteral artesunate in healthy Thai volunteers

The study compares the safety and pharmacokinetic properties of the currently available versus a newly developed parenteral formulation of artesunate in healthy Thai volunteers. The novel formulation offers improved solubility and stability and allows for rapid, single-step reconstitution, unlike the current method, which requires multiple steps.
