International Women's Day
8 Mar 2024
Malaria is among the top five most common causes of death among women of reproductive age in Africa. Each year, an estimated 40 million pregnancies in sub-Saharan Africa are exposed to malaria in pregnancy. Pregnant women especially those in the first trimester, are three times more likely to suffer from severe malaria and twice more likely to die with severe anemia caused as a result of malaria.
